This project involves removing broken pavement and replacing it with new asphalt. These improvements are happening all around the city of Bothell. Some of this work is in preparation for a full seal of the roadway, called a slurry seal, in the neighborhoods near Frank Love Elementary, scheduled for this summer.
When temperatures fluctuate, pavement expands and contracts creating cracks. When water seeps into the cracks, it degrades the asphalt and pavement, compromising structural integrity.
Patching removes pavement that has broken up and prevents the road from breaking down further.
