In May 2022, the City of Bothell began replacement of synthetic turf fields #2 and #4 at Bothell’s North Creek Sportsfield complex to ensure that the City can continue providing recreation spaces that are safe, playable, and durable.
These high-demand facilities provide programmed field use for a variety of local youth and adult sports, as well as drop-in use for the local community. In 2019, staff identified that both fields had surpassed their useful lifespan and were showing signs of surface hardening in critical areas of play. In 2021, Bothell City Council approved the replacement and upgrades, which include new turf and natural infill in an effort to move away from the typical crumb rubber material used in these types of recreational play spaces.
Construction was completed in early September 2022. Thank you for your patience as we worked to upgrade these facilities!
