Beginning May 2, 2022, Bothell Parks & Recreation will begin replacement of synthetic turf fields #2 and #4 at Bothell’s North Creek Sportsfield complex. Investment in the replacement of these fields ensures that we can continue providing recreation spaces that are safe, playable, and durable.
These high-demand facilities provide programmed field use for a variety of local youth and adult sports, as well as drop-in use for the local community. In 2019, staff identified that both fields had surpassed their useful lifespan and were showing signs of surface hardening in critical areas of play.
In 2021, Bothell City Council approved the replacement of these fields to ensure safe playing surfaces are available to our community that meet international safety standards. The installation will include new turf and natural infill in an effort to move away from the typical crumb rubber material used in these types of recreational play spaces.
Field #4 will close on May 2nd and Field #2 will close on June 6th. Construction for each project is expected to last approximately 12 weeks.
Thank you for your patience as we work to upgrade these facilities!
