Camden Lift Station

Lift station #4 was built in the mid-1980s as part of the Camden Highlands housing development and serves approximately 24 single family residences. The lift station has reached the end of its design life and maintaining the outdated lift station is becoming time consuming and expensive. The pump manufacturer no longer provides support for the pumps and the city operations crew is having to machine custom parts in order to maintain the lift station. In addition to the time and expense necessary to maintain the outdate lift station, frequent mechanical failures create the risk of sewage backing up into adjacent homes.

The project will retrofit the existing lift station site with new pumps, a new control panel, a new valve vault, automation hardware, and other associated site improvements.

Community Impacts

A temporary sewer bypass system will be installed ahead of the project, so no disruptions to the 24 single family homes served by the lift station are anticipated. A 20-foot lane will be maintained around the project site, so disruptions to throughfare or adjacent property ingress/egress are also not anticipated.

Residents living nearby may experience minor construction noise during normal construction hours from 7:00 am - 2:30 pm.
