Communications Specialists (Emergency Call Takers)
The citizens of Bothell benefit from an in-house 911 Emergency Communications Center. Communications Specialists are trained to serve as both call-takers for emergency and non-emergency incoming calls for service, and also as dispatchers for officer response to these calls. The Communications Specialists enjoy a close working relationship with officers and fellow employees within the department, as well as the citizens they serve.
For more information on Communication Specialist positions, see detailed Communication Specialist job description. To request a time to observe Communication Specialists on duty, please contact Support Services Manager, Grace Meyers.
First contacts for citizens visiting the Bothell Police Department are with our Records Specialists. These professional and dedicated individuals are responsible to provide front counter assistance to citizens, providing fingerprinting services, copies of incident and case reports and assisting in the application process to obtain CPL licenses. The Records Specialists also maintain police department case reports, criminal history record information and related records, and provide fingerprinting services.

Police Support Officers have daily exposure to suspects as they transport these individuals to and from Court appearances on a daily basis, ensure population control in the various detention facilities we use and manage the department's in-house holding facility.
The Department’s Evidence and Property Room Officer ensures that evidence is held, provided as required by Court and disposed of in accordance with State law. Our Evidence and Property Room Officer has been recognized by State Audit officials as being consistently without errors during the annual audit, and has been mentioned by these same officials as a resource for other evidence rooms in the State.
