The closure of Main Street between 101st and 102nd avenues to vehicles in downtown Bothell will continue through early February for ongoing construction of the Main Street Enhancement project. This gives the contractor an opportunity to finish remaining work as quickly as possible.
Project update and schedule
Crews are completely removing and replacing the roadway, sidewalks, parking stalls, lighting and landscaping as part of the Main Street Enhancement Project. The contractor has nearly completed construction of “bollard footings,” reinforced concrete that will support the bollards (posts) for the flexible use zones. The contractor has indicated, weather-permitting, that they will finish the concrete travel lanes, planter walls, sidewalks, and lighting by the end of February. It is anticipated that the parking stall pavers on the second block (between 101st and 102nd avenues) will also be complete then.
Completion of smaller project elements (pavers within intersections, landscaping, benches, bicycle racks, trash receptacles, and other furnishings) and related cleanup work is anticipated to wrap up sometime this spring. Construction may require intermittent lane closures and/or use of parking stalls.
- On-street parking on Main Street from Bothell Way to 101st Avenue NE is open, except for limited times when nearby work is ongoing.
- A temporary lot between SR 522 and Main Street is open.
- The City Hall garage at 18415 101st Ave NE is available.
- Parallel parking stalls on the Bothell Way access lanes provide additional parking.
