The City of Bothell has hired Michael Kattermann, AICP, as its Community Development Department Director. Kattermann will join the City on March 30.
“Both interview panels and the Community Development staff were very impressed with Michael’s experience, desire to join the Bothell team and his extensive regional contacts and knowledge,” said Jennifer Phillips, City Manager. “I believe Michael will be an exceptional addition to our team.”
Kattermann comes to Bothell from the City of Bellevue where he is a senior planner. He has been at the City of Bellevue since 2007. He brings expertise in developing housing strategies, coordinating with regional agencies, and working with residents, business owners and developers to implement the City’s plans. He also has experience fostering organizational change based on principles of high performing organizations. He is enthusiastic about bringing his skills to the City of Bothell.

Kattermann was an associate principal at AHBL, Inc., served as planning director at the City of Renton and also has experience as a planner in Phoenix, Arizona and Arlington, Texas.
He has a Master of Science in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Planning Association and certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
