[ARCHIVED] Main Street Enhancement Project update

MainStreetTraffic shot

102nd Avenue Intersection is open

Due to a weather break this week, paving work at the 102nd Avenue intersection was completed earlier than originally anticipated. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution though the intersection now that eastbound traffic through Main Street is coming through the intersection.

Now that the Main Street contractor has finished paving the 102nd Avenue approaches, traffic on all the approaches to the intersection has been restored. This will be maintained until such a time that the private building development (Mercantile) that is adjacent to the project begins their roadway restoration and frontage work. Beginning in mid-April, the private developer is anticipated to implement single lane closures along 102nd Avenue and on the east leg of Main Street/102nd Avenue intersection to pave the roadway segments in front of their property.

Second block between 101st Avenue NE & 102nd Avenue NE

Due to the weather break this week and the subsequent reopening of both the 101st Avenue Northeast & 102nd Avenue Northeast intersections, the eastbound (EB) lane of Main Street in this block has been reopened to EB traffic. Expect to see traffic cones in the roadway as crews are still completing some final finish work in this block, including street furniture installation (benches, trash cans, planter boxes etc.), signage, roadway striping and small repair work. This work is anticipated to be completed the third week of April.

First block between Bothell Way NE & 101st Avenue

Starting the week of April 2, crews began performing some sidewalk work on the north side of the street. This work is anticipated to take about three weeks to complete. Pedestrians will be routed around construction work. Expect single lane closures around the mid-block area with flaggers directing traffic in both directions. Additionally, crews are still completing some final finish work in this block, including street furniture installation (benches, trash cans, planter boxes etc.), signage, roadway striping and small repair work.
