A message from Animal Control Officer Kristi Boucher:
"I am excited to launch Bothell’s first ever Dog Walker Watch Program Class in August 2022! I hope this is another tool the Bothell Police Department and community of Bothell can use to build a partnership for years to come in preventing crime in our city. I think sometimes there are misconceptions on when it is okay to call 911 or the non-emergency police line. If you see something suspicious (behavior, activity, etc) then you should say something. People alone are not suspicious, but what they are doing can be. Our Bothell Dog Walkers have the ability to assist us by being our eyes and ears!"

- Bonus: Attendees will get to meet K9 Officer Allegro "Ro," while learning important information from his partner, Officer James Jordal, who is part of the Bothell Police Community Crime Reduction Team.
- Fun Stuff: Participants also get a free dog bandana for the Dog Walker Watch Program, a reflector for night walks, and links/bonus materials about the program.
What is the Dog Walker Watch Program?
Dog walkers really know their neighborhoods. By keeping an eye out for suspicious activity, dog walkers can do a lot to help keep their neighborhoods safe.
But what is suspicious activity, and what's the best way to report it to police? That's what the class/information night are all about; sharing insight, helpful information and resources.
Register for this one-night class and invite your friends and neighbors to come, too!
The Dog Walker Watch Program was started by the same group that first organized National Night Out against crime. National Night Out happens on the first Tuesday of August every year, and it's a great opportunity to talk to neighbors about safety and about the Dog Walker Watch Program! Here's a video to explain more about the Dog Walker Watch Program, and why so many dog walkers across the country enjoy and appreciate the program.
