Baloo's Barkery Selected to be Newest Pop Shop on Main

Bothell has a new business coming to downtown! Baloo’s Barkery which specializes in simply made dog treats has been selected to be the City’s newest Pop Shop on Main, and will be open for business on November 26 – just in time for your holiday shopping.

Read on to learn about Baloo's Barkery Business Owner, Stephani Alvin:

Bothell native and full-time working mother of four, Stephani Alvin, has always dreamed of launching a business. Her 15-year-old daughter Payton, is an entrepreneur herself and has plans to one day open her very own repurposed thrift store.

This last summer, the mother and daughter duo put their heads together and came up with what is now Bothell’s newest Pop Shop on Main, Baloo’s Barkery.

“I have always wanted to do my own thing and I had an opportunity. I’ve taken a year off of work to see if I can make this successful enough that I don’t have to go back to my 9 to 5 job,” Stephani shares.

Inspired by their beloved family dog, Baloo, Baloo’s Barkery specializes in selling simply made and often organic sweet treats for dogs. Products range from traditional biscuits and bones to donuts, muffins, and cookies that look so real, you’ll want to try them too!

What excites Stephani most about opening Baloo’s Barkery, is that it's an experience she can share with her daughter.

“My goal when we started was for us to get to do something together. Payton is in high school and has a busy life, but she helps as much as she can. She’s very creative – we eventually want to sell dog-themed mugs and t-shirts, and would also like to do bandanas and maybe even toys down the road.”

This last fall, Stephani was selected to be part of the City of Bothell’s Pop Shops on Main Program, which means she is now one of four women/minority-owned businesses to have pop-up retail space in downtown Bothell.

“I took a leap and am super happy that I did. It seems really surreal; I am really excited.

As you do your holiday shopping, we encourage you to shop local and support minority/women-owned businesses by stopping by Pop Shops on Main and exploring all of the unique goods that our Pop Shop businesses have to offer. Current Pop Shop Businesses include Bo'Bell JewelsHappyBodySoapsModest Family Solutions, and Baloo's Barkery. Pop Shops on Main are located on the corner of Main Street and Bothell Way NE and are open for business Thursday-Sunday from noon to 6 pm.

Free daytime parking is available at Bothell City Hall. Learn more about the Pop Shop Program today.
