[ARCHIVED] Save the Date for the Fire Station 42 Ribbon Cutting and Open House

Fire Station 42

Community members are invited to join the City of Bothell on Saturday, March 25 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. for the Fire Station 42 Ribbon Cutting and Open House.

The morning will begin with a few words from city leaders followed by the ribbon cutting and then the open house which will include station tours as well as firefighter meet and greets.

“Our City has two new fire stations, that is no small thing. Thank you to our community,  staff and the build team for making Stations 42 and 45 possible. I hope to see you all at the Ribbon Cutting on the 25th so that, together, we can celebrate an exciting milestone for public safety in Bothell,” said Mayor Mason Thompson.

The Station 42 Ribbon Cutting is also a time for Bothell to recognize recently retired Bothell Fire Chief, Bruce Kroon. Chief Kroon dedicated over 32 years of his career to the fire service and served as the Fire Chief for Bothell Fire Department from September 2017 to February 2023.

“Chief Kroon played a key role in bringing Bothell two new fire stations. He helped the City obtain funding and was involved in every stage of the project from planning to design and then construction. I can’t think of a better way to honor Bruce than by celebrating him during the Station 42 Ribbon Cutting” said Bothell Fire Deputy Chief of Operations, Jerry Hughes.

Station 42 was part of the City of Bothell’s Fire Stations Replacement Project which involved replacing both Fire Station 42, located downtown, and Fire Station 45 in Canyon Park. Fire Station 45 was completed in September 2022. Both Stations exceed industry standards, follow best practices of “Healthy-In and Healthy-Out,” and offer ample room for growth. The project was almost entirely funded by the 2018 voter-approved Safe and Secure Bond, worth $35.5 million.

See additional project details here, and thank you, Bothell, for your partnership in public safety.
