The City of Bothell is pleased to welcome Mark Risen as Interim Fire Chief.
Chief Risen has dedicated more than 38 years to the fire service and was employed with the Bellevue Fire Department for over 35 years. He served as the Fire Chief for Bellevue from 2014-2017 and was also the Interim Fire Chief for Woodinville Fire and Rescue in 2012.
“We are thankful to have Chief Risen onboard. He comes with a tremendous amount of experience and cares deeply about our community. Mark will do an exceptional job guiding the department and City through this transition,” City Manager Kyle Stannert said.
Chief Risen retired from the fire service in 2017 and has stepped out of retirement to temporarily serve as Bothell’s Fire Chief.
“I am pleased to be able to serve this great community. The fire department and the staff appear to have an outstanding relationship with the community that I hope to build on. I am looking forward to what the future holds for both the City and the Department.”
