Bothell Police Department was recently recognized for having successfully renewed accreditation with the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC).

On November 14, 2023 City Manager Kyle Stannert and Chief Ken Seuberlich shared the important news with Bothell City Council.

To be accredited by WASPC,  a police department must be meet all 148 accreditation standards.  Through an audit and site inspection process that lasts several months, a department must prove it meets all law enforcement "best practices," essential for maintaining accountability and building community trust.

"Of the 311 police departments and jails in Washington state, only 73 are accredited.  The Bothell Police Department is one of them," explained Chief Seuberlich to Bothell City Council.   red video play button over image of Chief Seuberlich, who is making a presentation to City Council.

The announcement, along with an explanation of the significance of  the department's third-consecutive-accreditation award was videotaped.  It can be viewed on the City of Bothell's YouTube channel.

Seuberlich also took a moment to thank the Bothell Police staff members who spent many months making sure the Bothell Police Department met or exceeded each and every WASPC accreditation standard.
