Artist Enid Smith Becker's semi-abstract landscapes are now on display at Bothell City Hall through January 2024. You can also meet Enid and learn more about her work during the Bothell Art Scene Art Walk on Thursday, December 14, from 5-8pm. About the Artist
Enid's layering of multiple perspectives invites the viewer to see the world through shifting lenses of time, scale, and space. Painted in acrylic on canvas, her work is often heavily textured in places with layers of acrylic paint, fabric, natural materials, and paper.
"My art is not a simple depiction of a place but a reminder of our longing for nature and the concomitant complexities of our relationship with the natural world. Each one of us brings our own memories and desires to all we see. They overlap and intersect in a constantly changing dialogue,” Becker shares.
Enid studied at the University of Washington and taught art methods throughout Washington State academia. Her work is in numerous collections around the United States and abroad; we encourage fellow art enthusiasts to visit Enid's website to learn more about her work, accolades, and selected exhibitions.
Enid was selected after a call was administered by the Bothell Arts Commission inviting regional artists for consideration to showcase their work in the gallery space at Bothell City Hall. The City Hall gallery space is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
