As we eagerly approach the Fourth of July, anticipation fills the air for a tradition cherished in Bothell for over a century. Bothell's Fourth of July Hometown Celebration is a festive event weaving together activities including a pancake breakfast, lively parades, a dazzling car show, and spirited fun throughout downtown.
Adding to the spirit of these celebrations, each year presents an opportunity for our community to nominate an exemplary individual who embodies the heart of Bothell as our Grand Marshal. Today, we are delighted to announce that Dave Monahan has been selected as the 2024 Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshal.
Dave Monahan and his family have been woven into to the fabric of our community for over 60 years. Born and raised right here in Bothell, Dave has profoundly impacted our community through his dedicated service to Bothell Fire & Rescue and supporting agencies across the region. Beginning as a volunteer in 1988, Dave's journey in fire and emergency response led him to become a full-time firefighter with Bothell Fire Department in 1999. For more than 30 years, Dave tirelessly advocated for Bothell by volunteering at events, leading community workshops and classes, serving on union boards, and notably, spearheading the development of a software system that became a regional program used for firefighter training and daily operations management.
Dave's contributions have earned him numerous accolades and honors, reflecting the deep gratitude of our community and region for his unwavering dedication. It is with great pride that we honor Dave as this year's Grand Marshal.
As we prepare for another spectacular hometown celebration, we look forward to celebrating with you on the Fourth of July. To learn more about the event, please visit bothellwa.gov/fourthofjuly
