City Council Passes Comprehensive Plan

Text reads “City of Bothell, Imagine Bothell Comprehensive Plan, December 2024”

At their December 10 regular meeting, Bothell City Council approved the 2024 Imagine Bothell Comprehensive Plan periodic update and associated development regulations. The Comprehensive Plan establishes the 20-year vision and blueprint for Bothell’s future, establishing new goals and policies that will assist in guiding new residential and commercial growth, improve the transportation system, and inform where to make capital investments such as utilities, sidewalks, trails, and parks. Every 10 years, cities and counties throughout Washington are required to update their Comprehensive Plans, taking a holistic view of their future. The Imagine Bothell Comprehensive Plan update establishes the framework for the growth throughout the City, in both our neighborhoods and commercial centers.

Located in two counties, Bothell had the unique opportunity to develop our Comprehensive Plan consistent with established policies from both King and Snohomish Counties. The final product plans for a singular Bothell, establishing a balanced approach to guiding growth that will accommodate a variety of housing options for our growing community, while respecting the existing natural and built environment.
