The City of Bothell is now accepting applications for entrepreneurs and small businesses to participate in the 2025-2026 Pop Shops on Main Small Business Incubator Program. Pop Shops on Main supports small, disadvantaged businesses by providing prime retail space in the heart of downtown Bothell.
Local entrepreneurs and businesses can apply now through April 4, 2025.
The Pop Shops on Main Program first launched in March 2021, when City Council approved the installation of four pre-fabricated buildings along Main Street and Bothell Way NE to support local businesses. In addition to these four original buildings, four more Pop Shops are being constructed in the same area.
Program Participant Requirements
Applicants must be able to operate their business under the current hours of the program: Thursday -Sunday, 12pm-6pm.
In addition to other requirements, applicants must:
- Have the necessary permits and certificates of insurance
- Be able to fulfill a 2-year contract agreement
- Be comfortable with the services and infrastructure provided by the program, which include a 8' x 10' retail space that has electricity, air and heat, but no running water
Application Process – Deadline of April 4th
Those interested should complete a short application, which includes a 1-2 page business plan and a short video.
The City is offering a "Business Basics" workshop to help applicants build a business plan and develop their business idea at no-cost. This class has two sessions at City Hall on 03/20 and 03/27.
