April is distracted driving awareness month.  The Bothell Police Department will be conducting high-visibility emphasis patrols, as part of our partnership with law enforcement agencies and commitment to Target Zero.

Cell phone use while driving is a leading cause of distracted driving crashes.

How dangerous is distracted driving?  The numbers are alarming.

In 2023:

  • 3,275 fatalities in distracted-driving crashes
  • 324,819 people injured.

In percentages,  distracted driving in 2023 accounts for:

  • 8% of fatal crashes
  • 13% of injury crashes
  • 13% of all police-reported traffic crashes.

Please help us make Bothell roads safe for everyone.  Encourage people you know to prioritize safe and focused driving.

Tell people you know:  Texting and driving is never okay.
