April is distracted driving awareness month. The Bothell Police Department will be conducting high-visibility emphasis patrols, as part of our partnership with law enforcement agencies and commitment to Target Zero.

How dangerous is distracted driving? The numbers are alarming.
In 2023:
- 3,275 fatalities in distracted-driving crashes
- 324,819 people injured.
In percentages, distracted driving in 2023 accounts for:
- 8% of fatal crashes
- 13% of injury crashes
- 13% of all police-reported traffic crashes.
