PUBLIC NOTICE FOR BOTHELL RESIDENTS: City Seeking Ballot Measure Committee Members
The Bothell City Council is seeking committee members to advocate for the approval of or the rejection of Proposition 1 – Renewal of Safe Street & Sidewalk Levy Renewal ballot measure, scheduled for the November 4, 2025 general election and described as follows:

CITY OF BOTHELL
RENEWAL OF SAFE STREETS AND SIDEWALKS LEVY LID LIFT
The Bothell City Council passed Ordinance No. 2456 concerning renewing the expiring safe streets and sidewalks levy lid lift.
If approved, this proposition would reauthorize funding for the Safe Streets and Sidewalks Improvements and set the maximum total regular levy rate at $1.65/$1,000 assessed value in 2026. Improvements include street repairs, potholes and resurfacing; sidewalks, crosswalks and traffic safety infrastructure; and other projects, all as described in the Ordinance. The increased amount levied would carry forward in calculating levy limits for nine years through 2035. Qualifying seniors, veterans, and others would be exempt under State law.

Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest that includes their name, address, telephone number, and email address, to the City of Bothell, Attn: City Clerk, 18415 101st Avenue NE, Bothell, WA 98011 or cityclerk@bothellwa.gov no later than 4:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Letters of interest must indicate support of or opposition to the ballot measure and explain why you are interested in serving as a committee member. The City Council anticipates appointing members to the Pro/Con committees at their July 15, 2025 Council meeting.
No more than three persons may be appointed to each committee. Each committee will be responsible for writing statements that will appear in the local voters’ pamphlet (maximum of 200 words) related to the Safe Streets and Sidewalks Levy. Pro/Con statements are due to the King County Auditor by August 12, 2025, and to the Snohomish County Auditor by August 14, 2025. Each side will have the opportunity to submit rebuttal statements (maximum of 75 words). Rebuttal statements are due to King County by August 14, and Snohomish County by August 18.
