Do developers pay anything currently to fund streets and sidewalks?
Yes. Developers must pay for improvements along their frontage (sidewalks, for example) and restore any infrastructure that they damage during construction. The levy is specific to maintenance; responsibility for maintenance is a shared responsibility throughout the city and developers may not solely pay those costs.

Certain residential developers must work with the school district regarding safe walk to school routes. Applicants for residential subdivisions or short plats must submit a form to the Northshore School District to initiate an assessment of safe walking conditions for students according to RCW 58.17.060, RCW 58.17.110 and BMC 15.08.030.
